Oil hit $116.72. How does that reach your petrol pump?
Brent crude had its highest settlement since 29 April on Friday. Guess how much oil India imports, crack the case, then do the maths on one litre of crude. ๐ข๏ธ

What does one litre of crude cost in rupees?
Oil is priced in dollars, so the rupee rate matters too. Slide both. Maths only, nothing announced.
At $116.72 a barrel and โน94.93 per dollar, one barrel is about โน11,080, or about โน69.69 per litre of crude. Maths only, nothing announced.
A barrel is about 159 litres. This is crude only. It leaves out refining, freight, margins and taxes. The Monday comparison uses the same rupee rate for both, so it isolates the oil price. All of it is my own arithmetic.

Fri 23 Oct 2026. Brent figures are settlements and the rupee figure is a provisional close, not intraday prices. Monday and Tuesday settlements are compiled from news reports. The per litre maths and the weekly comparison are my own arithmetic. Pump prices were last checked in reports up to 21 Oct. Reports name the reasons for the oil jump but give no split.
